Rivers NSCDC Decried Fire Incident Caused By Illegal Bunkry

The state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Rivers State Command, Abu Tambuwal has commiserated with the families and loved ones of the bereaved who lost their lives at the fire incident caused by illegal bunkering activities at a location border between Oquzi in Ogba/Egbema /Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State and Abeji in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State.
He at the same time condemned all acts of sabotaging the economy of the nation, environmental degradation, and fire outbreak through oil bunkering activities.
The state command made this known in a statement signed by the State Command Spokesperson, DSC Olufemi Ayodele, released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, (NAOSNP) maintaining that the Command under his watch will not leave any stone unturned in the fight against illegal dealings in petroleum products, oil theft, and illegal bunkering activities.
Tambuwal commended the efforts of the security agencies Nigerian Army, DSS Nigeria Police, and the NSCDC who carried out emergency response, crowd control, and adequate security in the environment to prevent nefarious activities by hoodlums.
The fire occurred in an illegal bunkering site situated at the boundary between Rivers State and Imo State leading to the death of men, women, and children hundreds who were burnt beyond recognition in the early hours of Saturday 23rd April 2022.
