Addressing his principal at the august visit, the Commander, Area A Command, ACP Sagir Ismail said: ‘I am glad that this is finally holding today after so many postponements due to exigencies. We are happy that you have come at lst. You have served Nigeria Police in this same Lion Building on many occasions. I want to say a very big thank you for you service to Nigeria, Nigeria Police and to Lion Building in particular. It is my honor and privilege on behalf of all men and officers in Area A command for your well-deserved appointment as CP, Lagos Command. We are proud of you in the area of crime prevention, detection, and protection of lives and properties.’
On the challenges they face on the job, ACP Sagir said: ‘Generally, Lagosians are very peace-loving and sociable people but as we all know that there is no crime-free society in the world. Lagos Island is not an exception. Miscreants, atimes, want to take advantage of the peaceful nature of the people. Cultism is common in the area as youngsters engage in substance abuse and are engaged in these groups’.
‘The Command enjoys the confidence of the community. There is a mutual beneficial relationship between the Command and all relevant stakeholders. The Command is working in harmony with all sister agencies to reduce criminality to the barest minimum’, Trek Africa Newspaper gathered.
