Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Tuesday, arrested a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.
It was gathered that FFK was nabbed over alleged manipulation and forgery of documents.
He has been reportedly whisked to the Lagos Zonal Office of the anti-graft agency.
When contacted by DAILY POST, the spokesman of the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the report saying “he was arrested this evening”.
Uwajeren, however, did not give details of the arrest of press time.
Recall that Fani-Kayode was recently on the news after he dumped the People’s Democratic Party, PDP for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The former ministers subsequently began to associate with some top government officials whom he had tagged as corrupt fellows.
His recent political activities had been generating controversies as some Nigerians lamented his unstable nature in politics.
Meanwhile, a close ally of the ex-minister, who didn’t want his identity revealed, said FFK felt betrayed by the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He said “FFK had done everything to escape being a victim of EFCC, and it was obvious that the APC leaders leveraged on that to tempt him to join their party, with the hope that he would be given a soft landing. But unfortunately, they didn’t keep their end of the bargain”.
