Engr. Dr. Valentine Buraimoh re-elected over the weekend as the Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area has been sworn-in today for a second term in the office by the Executive Governor of Lagos state, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

Sharing his thoughts with TrekAfrica Newspaper, the Chairman believes that his re-election is a tribute to his performance during the first term and promises to go the extra mile this second term. ‘What we did in the first tenure was very encouraging and we were able to reverse negative thoughts about youth in governance and that is why the people deem it fit to re-elect me for a second term in office. We are going to build and consolidate what we did first time so that the people of Amuwo-Odofin can enjoy the dividend of democracy in all ramifications.’

Engr. Dr. Buraimoh added: ‘In the area of infrastructure, we are almost completing a 2-storey building mini-general hospital that will serve the entire people of Amuwo-Odofin and the neighborhood. The other roads that we are constructing, people are expecting us to do it and we will do many more.’

‘As regards security, since my first tenure, we have enjoyed relative peace. People cannot allow that to go down the drain. That is why they re-elected me to serve the good people of Amuwo-Odofin.’

On the tussle that attended his candidacy within the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the party primaries, he noted: ‘Life is about competition. Anything good is not for one person. People will want to challenge you for it, so it is one of the things that spur us to do more.’
